With an enigmatic release date, "Photochrome" likely emerged somewhere between the late 1970s and early 1980s on the Italian Idea label. Despite boasting a modest catalog primarily comprising 7" singles, Idea has garnered attention from collectors of European disco rarities with releases like "Flavio – Drum Explosion" and "Aleo's Band - EOE". "Photochrome" embodies an organic sound tinged with early electronic elements that were likely finding their way into studios during that era. A brisk, driving bassline interwoven with what resembles an early 303 bassline and ethereal, cosmic vocals characterize the track. The dry drum recordings contribute to a raw, do-it-yourself ambiance, complemented by experimental vocal effects, resulting in a distinct sound that has captured the interest of diggers worldwide. Now reissued at an accessible price, "Photochrome" includes a new two-part bonus beats remix, initially serving as a DJ-friendly tool before delving into an adventurous acid house excursion. Originally available only in 7" format, the remastered release is now presented in a 12" format.
