Omar Santis makes a very welcome return to Karakul with the ‘Needs EP’.

Since his fantastic ‘A T.D.L.D. Joint’ EP kick-started Karakul in the tail-end of 2014, the Stockholm based Chilean put out the well-received ‘Greatest Hits!’ 12” on Swedish label Svedjebruk last year. He’s obviously been a busy man as he has now delivered his second Karakul record, the ‘Needs EP’ and we’re very grateful!

While he’s known for his deeper house sound, opening track ‘Caress’ might well be Omar’s most anthemic production yet, a huge acidic builder of a track that we have a feeling will be catching a few ears and dancing feet over the coming year. ‘The Moan’ takes energy levels down with a sultry groove, subtle guitar licks and dubby sonics.

The deceptively titled ‘Unwind’ is another dancefloor destroyer, a simple organ and bass loop stretched over six and a half minutes... the drums really punch on this one! Finally ‘Lé Hugs’ is an ocean of calm after the storm, an uplifting gem and the perfect ender to round out another brilliant EP from Omar.
