SYNKRO

Synkro has become an increasingly familiar name in underground circles, with notable appearances on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood and dBridge's Exit Recordings showing off his maturity of sound and effortless genre-crossing productions.

Having helped to launch the Box Clever with a polished slab of halfstep on 001, it made sense for Synkro to re-appear for another instalment in the 10" series. "Tribe" on the A is built around a tight rhythmic framework – stuttering drums and digitized glitches form a mesh upon which Synkro hangs expansive pads, yearning male chants and heavy layers of sub bass.

On the flip, "Here's Your" taps into Synkro's deep understanding of the UKG groove, stripping out a 2-step pattern to leave a skeletal beat - slowly new elements are added, bringing in lush organs, sparkling arpeggiation and cut-up vocals.
